PLEK vzw aims to make its space in the Kammerstraat available in an accessible, low-threshold way. Our fixed costs (Utilities, insurance, music rights/Unisono…) and maintenance costs are partially covered by an expense contribution that we ask from every organizer.

This fee is €50 per event (provided the event is free to the public). For events lasting longer than one day (exhibitions, etc.)—which we explicitly encourage—we determine the fee in consultation. We do not necessarily charge per day; our main goal is for the space to be used for its intended purpose and to remain accessible to the public for free.

PLEK is not a venue for parties. For such events, we recommend De Vierde Zaal or Minus One. Please read the house rules before submitting a request.

How does the bar work?

As the organizer, you run the bar yourself.

• You provide the bar staff.
• You purchase drinks from us at purchase price: € 1.50 (beer & alcohol-free) / € 1.00 (soft drinks).
• You sell them at a maximum price of: € 3.00 (beer & alcohol-free) / € 2.50 (soft drinks).
• The profit margin is yours.
• We will forward the drinks bill after the event.
• Our selection is limited, though it can be expanded in consultation.

Practical details:

• All payments are processed through our cash register system. We will provide you with an instructional video.
• You count the stock upon arrival and departure using an online tool.
• We send one final settlement afterwards (fixed expense fee + cost of drinks consumed – your profit on drinks).
